Johnny Gargano and Ridge Holland were having a qualifying match for the NXT North American Title match at NXT TakeOver: XXX, and then something went wrong. Ridge powerslammed Gargano onto his neck which caused Johnny Wrestling’s neck to bend in a way it never should.

The match was stopped, and Gargano was checked on. It was a scary spot, but in reality, the match was stopped for much longer.

They ended up keeping that scary bump on television when it was previously reported that they edited it out and re-started the match completely.

The way that they cut the match made it look like Gargano was playing opossum as he nailed a Superkick on Holland and continued. This was quite a scary spot, but it turned out okay.

Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that Johnny Gargano wasn’t injured. He was hurting and feeling that move in a big way the next morning. Hopefully, he doesn’t have any lasting damage due to that bad bump.

Gargano is now set to battle in a ladder match this Saturday at NXT TakeOver: XXX. That match could be very eventful. Let’s see how well Gargano can protect his neck.
