WWE’s pattern of surprising its talent with sudden releases has become a hallmark of the company each year, leaving many superstars feeling unsettled and uncertain about their futures. Despite a slight decrease in frequency, the recent spate of departures serves as a reminder of this ongoing practice.

In the latest round of cuts, which occurred just last week, several notable names were unexpectedly let go, including Xyon Quinn, Jinder Mahal, Sanga, Veer Mahaan, and Von Wagner. Moreover, Cameron Grimes announcing his release in an emotional video added to the somber atmosphere surrounding the company.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE CCO Triple H, who is leading the charge for the new era, was behind the recent WWE releases including Von Wagner who mostly worked exclusively for NXT.

“From what we were told, even though Wagner mostly exclusively worked in NXT, he was considered a main roster talent and the decision for all of these cuts were Paul Levesque main roster decisions, where most at NXT weren’t even aware until it happened.”
