Mike Chioda made his AEW Dynamite debut this week. He officiated Cody’s TNT Title defense against Scorpio Sky. They said he has “33 years of officiating experience” on his name plate.

It was thought that WWE cut Chioda because due to his veteran status, he was making a healthy paycheck. WWE was in cost-cutting mode so Chioda was released.

AEW has been criticized by some for their officiating. Some have chastised the company’s referees for not enforcing the rules and maintaining order. This is a good get for All Elite Wrestling if they have brought Mike Chioda in for the long term.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
