WWE had some big plans for RAW next week, but now one match isn’t for the gold as first announed.

Drew McIntyre was supposed to put the WWE Title on the line against Dolph Ziggler next week on RAW. McIntyre was even going to wait until the match was about to start before revealing his stipulation. Now that match has much less at stake.

WWE has changed this match to a non-title match. The description on WWE’s official website now reads:

“WWE Champion Drew McIntyre agreed to face Dolph Ziggler in a non-title rematch, but this time, he gets to choose the stipulation.”

This is a very interesting turn of events. It is widely thought that Randy Orton will make himself known to McIntyre very soon as his next challenger for the WWE Title. We’ll have to see how WWE books this situation. They apparently didn’t need another WWE Title match in the process.

So far the Sasha Banks vs Asuka match is still for the RAW Women’s Title, but it’s the only title match on the show next week.
