Apollo Crews did not appear at Extreme Rules for some undisclosed reasons and that led to MVP becoming the NEW United States Champion by forfeit. He also wasn’t happy about MVP claiming the United States Title.

Although Crews hasn’t appeared on RAW for the past few weeks, fans expected to see him in action at The Horror Show At Extreme Rules. However, during the show, the announcers revealed that Crews wasn’t medically cleared to compete in the title match.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Crews was not at the event because the COVID-19 virus. This was the real reason why he didn’t show up on the pay-per-view.

Meltzer said that there were suspicions within the company about Crews’ health and they were proven right eventually. This is also the reason why Crews hasn’t been used on television in the past few weeks.

There has been no official statement from WWE regarding this situation. However, the company isn’t likely to reveal this information to the public as was made evident in the past.

If Crews has indeed tested positive for the virus, we hope that he recovers speedily from it.
