Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary event ended with the crowning of a new World Champion. Tessa Blanchard, their former World Champion was fired while holding the title.

Rich Swann and Eric Young were both surprises for the Slammiversary main event. The match was suddenly a five-way.

Trey was eliminated first. Then Eric Young was taken out by Rich Swann. Eric Young then destroyed Swann with a chair before he left. Ace Austin soon took out Rich Swann which left Austin and Eddie Edwards as the final two wrestlers in the main event match.

In the end, Eddie Edwards defeated Ace Austin to become World Champion. This was a hard-fought match. Afterward Madman Fulton came down and laid a beatdown on the new champion.

The Good Brothers came down for the save. They entered the ring and took out Fulton and Ace Austin to cement themselves as babyfaces in Impact Wrestling.
