Bully Ray is no longer with Ring Of Honor. His contract expired, and they decided not to renew his deal. There is more to this story.

Ian Riccaboni made it very clear with multiple tweets that ROH is not in a hiring freeze. PW Insider reports that Bully Ray’s parting with ROH was mutual.

It is reported that Bully Ray’s contract did expire on April 1st, but it was agreed upon that they wouldn’t be offering a new deal. Both sides decided to go their separate ways.

The original plan was for Bully Ray to stay until the Supercard Of Honor show that was eventually cancelled. He was going to finish up his storyline with Maria Manic at that WrestleMania 36 weekend event.

The end of Rays run had been a mutually agreed upon decision prior to the COVID-19 pandemic taking hold and the series of events that world has been plunged into since March had no bearing on the situation.  There was no heat between Ray and the company, just a realization that he had done all he could do there currently.

There is no animosity held on either side and things seem to be amicable. Bully Ray is still busy on Busted Open Radio, but you also never know where he’ll end up in the pro wrestling world next.
