Update: Jake Hager was suspended from AEW and had an undisclosed fine handed down.

Original: AEW Fyter Fest didn’t include any title changes during night 1, but Jake Hager was under the impression that he won. This caused him to knock out an official and they made a very big deal about that.

Jake Hager knocking out out a referee was met with a flood of officials from the backstage area. Since AEW is presenting a “real sports” feel it only makes sense that some kind of punishment is coming for the former Jack Swagger.

During Wrestling Observer Radio (transcribed by Ringside News), Dave Meltzer stated that the story likely isn’t over in regards to Hager knocking out an AEW official.

“They really called attention to it big so I wonder if they’re going to do an angle off that because they really made a big deal about you can’t hit a referee.”

AEW could hand down a kayfabe fine to Hager, or they might “suspend” him to give the Inner Circle member some time off. We’ll have to see what’s next for this angle, but odds are All Elite Wrestling will clear it up soon.
