Edge and Randy Orton battled for 36 minutes at WrestleMania 36 in a last man standing match. They’re not done with each other yet and their next encounter at Backlash could be even longer.

We previously reported that Edge and Randy Orton was filmed yesterday. The rest of the Backlash card was rumored to be filmed yesterday, but the company only recorded the one match. They wanted to make sure that the two had every chance in the world to have a great match thanks to editing in post.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer further noted that he was told Edge and Randy Orton went out there to have the most intelligent match they could. This will likely be a very long contest as well.

“I heard a lot of selling. It’s really long — I think really long. That’s the idea to not to swerve you on the greatest match ever by making you mad when they have a terrible match. It was very much to do the best match that they possibly could.”

We’ll have to see what goes down at Backlash. It appears that they didn’t film the entire card after all. Now we will just have to see how Orton vs Edge turns out.
