Braun Strowman won the WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 36, but he wasn’t even booked on the card. Roman Reigns didn’t work the event and the Monster Among Men filled in. He’s still running like a freight train as Champion, but fans are anticipating a big opponent for him eventually.

Bray Wyatt lost to Braun Strowman at Money In The Bank. The Fiend was teased, but Strowman’s next pay-per-view opponents are Miz and John Morrison in a handicap match. Ringside News exclusively reported that Wyatt’s Fiend vs Strowman will happen, but not right away.

Ringside News has now learned that it is WWE’s plan to run the Fiend vs Braun Strowman match prior to SummerSlam.

Since Monster vs Fiend seems like a pay-per-view match-up, Extreme Rules is the only option between Backlash and the biggest party of the summer.

Details for Extreme Rules have yet to be confirmed by WWE. The event was previously set to take place on July 19th at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The event might still be July 19th, but San Jose won’t be hosting it.

Since Strowman vs Wyatt seems incredibly likely for Extreme Rules it would be a good idea to expect Bray Wyatt’s return soon. It is unclear what WWE has in store for SummerSlam, but they want to run this match beforehand.

Bray Wyatt has been absent from television in recent weeks. JoJo Offerman also gave birth to the couple’s second child. Wyatt will be back to tormenting his opponents as The Fiend soon enough.
