AEW introduced the TNT Title at Double Or Nothing and Cody’s first opponent is set to be Jungle Boy next week on Dynamite. An open challenge would provide opportunities, and some of them might not be under AEW contract.

Rhodes did a Q&A wher he took a few questions. One fan asked The American Nightmare: “Is the open challenge for your TNT Championship open to non AEW talent?”

“Yes,” was Cody Rhodes’ only reply. Then Brian Pillman Jr popped in the thread. The idea of Pillman vs Rhodes excited a lot of fans. Brian Pillman Jr is with MLW presently, but you can never say never in pro wrestling.

MLW along with so many other indie companies are not running right now due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Perhaps an AEW TNT Title open challenge will give a few of those wrestlers itching to get back in the ring a great reason to put on their gear.
