Kurt Angle was part of the massive budget cuts that took place on April 15th. That was a sad day for Angle, but he might be coming back sooner than later.

Angle was on NXT this week as a guest official in the Matt Riddle vs Timothy Thatcher fight pit match. Then Angle appeared on SmackDown two days later to introduce Matt Riddle to the blue brand’s audience. Kurt Angle isn’t under a new WWE contract, but one might be expected.

Wrestling News reports that many within WWE expect to have Kurt Angle back around very soon.

I was told that everyone expects Angle to be back. He is currently on a 90-day non-compete until July after it was announced by WWE.com that he was one of the names released due to budget cuts related to the pandemic.

WWE would certainly be letting a huge name go if they don’t re-sign Kurt Angle. It’s doubtful that he will ever wrestle again, but he could be incredibly beneficial to any television company even in a non-wrestling capacity.
