Investigators Say Discovered Body Matches Shad Gaspard’s Description

Update: Investigators have confirmed the identity of Shad Gaspard’s body. He was 39-years-old.

Original: Shad Gaspard went missing as he swam in the waters off Venice Beach on Sunday afternoon. He was 39-years-old at the time and instructed rescuers to save his 10-year-old son before taking care of him.

A body was discovered early on Wednesday morning, but was not identified yet. New information leads investigators to believe that the body does belong to the former WWE Superstar.

NBC LA’s Daniella Guzman reports that the body found on Venice Beach early on Wednesday morning matches the description of Shad Gaspard.

Investigators say a body, matching the description of the missing father, former WWE wrestling star Shad Gaspard, has washed ashore in Venice. He was swept away by a rip current while swimming with his 10 yr old son. Son was rescued by lifeguards.
