WWE booked SummerSlam for August 23rd, but that date isn’t going to work for Boston now. Their Mayor has banned large events until early September. Now WWE will need to figure something out.

Previous reports stated that WWE is considering rescheduling Summerslam to the Fall. The Wrestling Observe Newsletter noted that Vince McMahon is determined to hold SummerSlam with fans this year, even if he must reschedule the event.

Vince McMahon is determined to have a live crowd for this year’s SummerSlam. Right now it is scheduled for August but if waiting until September is the only way to have the show in front of a live crowd, the thought is he would make that move but it is not a move decided on and he hasn’t outright committed to it.

Nothing is set in stone yet. It might be possible that WWE will find a state that is much more willing to allow live fans in sporting events. Florida, Georgia, Arizona, and Oklahoma seem to all be inching closer to allowing sporting events with live fans.

In the end, this is 100% a Vince McMahon decision and “he changes his mind constantly.”
