Tessa Blanchard is the Impact Wrestling World Champion, but she did not make their Rebellion event. She stayed in Mexico due to the on-going threat associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blanchard sent out an apology to fans that she couldn’t make the show. Then Michael Elgin cut a promo where he said something about Blanchard that hit close to home.

“Tessa Blanchard, the Impact World Champion finds herself stuck in Mexico, but she’s an American citizen. She’s not stuck, she’s afraid. See, she belongs in the shallow end, but she tried to dive in the deep end and now she’s gonna drown.”

Tessa Blanchard fired back at Michael Elgin’s comments that she is afraid. Blanchard stated that she’s faced bigger men in the ring than Elgin. She’s not scared, she’s staying safe.

To be the best, you’ve got to beat the best.. and whether you or anyone else likes it, I AM the best in @IMPACTWRESTLING

Tessa Blanchard could remain in Mexico for quite some time depending on how things progress. It is an unpredictable time and Blanchard isn’t taking any chances. Let’s see how long Impact Wrestling can go without their World Champion in the process.
