Goldberg and Brock Lesnar have met twice at the show of shows. Those matches were years apart from each other, but Lesnar won both times. The first match was much different as both Lesnar and Goldberg were exiting WWE at the same time.

While speaking to Inside The Ropes, Goldberg explained what it was like preparing for his WrestleMania XX match. He said that Vince McMahon was furious. He wasn’t happy with either competitor as they were both leaving his company and everyone knew it. When it came to who would win the match, that confused Goldberg a bit too.

“I just wonder how he came to that decision. I really do because he wanted to kill me. I know he wanted to kill Brock. So, I guess he wanted to kill Brock more and that is why I won.”

Fans destroyed the match as they chanted “You sold out” and sang the “Na Na Na Na Goodbye” song. They didn’t give it much of a chance even with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin in the ring as well.

“Nobody cared, They wanted to yell and boo and do all that stuff, but I’ll be damned if you tell me that in a match where you got me pressing Brock Lesnar up over his head and him pressing me up over his head. You can’t tell me that’s not one of the coolest things you could see in one match because no one has ever done it to me and no one has ever done it to him since that I know of.”

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar returned to WWE eventually. Both Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will be wrestling at WrestleMania 36 as well. They will enter the show of shows as champions, too. The biggest difference is this year they run zero risk of getting booed out of the building.
