How Close WWE Really Was To Bringing CM Punk Back For WrestleMania

CM Punk was throwing some shade at Seth Rollins and The Monday Night Messiah mentioned him on RAW. This upset Vince McMahon because he didn’t want to tease something that he wasn’t going to deliver.

Punk stoked the fire even more recently when he stated that WWE was begging him to make a return for WrestleMania. Apparently, that’s not the case.

PW Insider has squashed this rumor. It was reported that there was actually zero communication between CM Punk and WWE for any type of return.

There was zero communication between WWE management and CM Punk regarding such a match or even Punk appearing at WrestleMania in any form.    Nothing was offered.  Nothing was turned down.  The conversations never took place.

CM Punk will be on WWE Backstage once they return from hiatus. There was nothing to the idea that he might come back for WrestleMania. It’s probably for the best that they didn’t book him because this year’s Mania was destroyed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
