Tony Khan is President of All Elite Wrestling, but when Cody Rhodes is set on diving off a steel cage in his hometown it’s going to happen.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Cody Rhodes revealed that Tony Khan was “adamant” about him not doing a moonsault off the steel cage during his match against Wardlow on Dynamite. Of course, Cody did it anyway, but Tony Khan really cares about his stars’ safety.

I thought about it all day. Tony Khan was adamant that I didn’t do it. I’ve never seen a boss like him and how he leads, and the way he cares about his investments. Too many people were trying to talk me out of it. Typically, I’m by the ‘Go position’ during our show, but I stayed away.

We’ll have to see how long it takes before AEW holds another steel cage match. It will take a lot to top what Cody and Wardlow were able to do in Atlanta.
