AEW has a lot of things going on behind the scenes. Since 2020 started Tony Khan has really stepped up and taken a big lead in AEW’s creative direction.

PW Insider reports that Tony Khan “laid out” the tag team battle royal match on Dynamite this week. That match received a fair amount of fan praise especially how they worked out the closing moments.

It was also reported that the Young Bucks, BJ Whitmer and QT Marshall helped with the battle royal match plans.

Tony Khan was the man behind the idea of Sammy Guevara holding up cue cards during commercial breaks. Now it is standard practice to use the picture-in-picture in this way as Darby Allin has done this as well.

It was also reported that Tony Khan wanted the lights to go down for dramatic effect as Darby Allin returned this week on Dynamite. Darby Allin’s pop was substantial and a lot of that might have been assisted by AEW killing the lights for a moment.
