WWE is planning for WrestleMania 36, but they can’t include everyone on the card.
Goldberg will be wrestling Bray Wyatt’s Fiend at the Super ShowDown on February 27th. Odds are he’s not going to win the title unless Vince McMahon changes his mind.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Goldberg is not expected to be at WrestleMania this year. This would lead us to believe that whatever happens in Saudi Arabia won’t end with Goldberg winning the Universal Title.
Everything is obviously subject to change as Vince McMahon could always decide Goldberg is a better opponent for Reigns for a WrestleMania marquee, but that would also mean ditching plans for months of building Bray Wyatt up for Reigns.
Roman Reigns vs Goldberg is a much bigger marquee match. Vince McMahon can do whatever he wants in his company. The match currently on the books for WrestleMania is The Fiend vs The Big Dog.
