The Undertaker is a legend in pro wrestling, but there wasn’t always a place for a man of his size and ability. Vince McMahon had to figure out what to do with the Phenom, but it took some time.

While speaking to the Broken Skull Sessions, The Undertaker explained an initial meeting with Vince McMahon. Taker might have been afraid that McMahon was going to turn him into “The Shower Boy” at first, but it turns out that WWE made him wait.

“So we get to the end of the meeting and it’s like ‘Well, we don’t really have anything for you right now’ I wasn’t expecting that. I had already given my notice. You know, I’m done, I’m done with WCW at this point that was it. I was like, ‘Wow I didn’t plan on that happening.’ I was already told by one company that nobody would pay money to see me and now this guy doesn’t have a spot for me — maybe after Mania and we’re talking months and months away.”

“So I’m trying to stay positive. I know I’ve got it in me somewhere to make it somewhere, but it was shaky there for a minute.”

The Undertaker eventually got a call from Vince McMahon and the rest is history. It just goes to show that even if you get told no from the get-go that you should never give up. After all, you never know if someone could get inspired by watching an old west movie and decide they want to turn you into an undertaker character that will change your life forever. At least that’s what happened in this instance.
