NXT was able to beat AEW Dynamite for the first week since the two shows started competing during the same Wednesday Night time slot. This was a big win for WWE, but AEW still topped them in every demographic except for over 50.

While speaking to The Wrap, Adam Cole commented on NXT’s win over AEW this week. It’s a marathon and not a sprint which seemed to be a mantra that Adam Cole echoed as well.

“We’re just mainly focused on trying to put on a really exciting, cool show. And last night’s show was just an absolute blast, with the guys from ‘Raw,’ the guys from ‘SmackDown,’ the matches that happened, it was just a really, really cool night and so I’m glad so many people enjoyed it.”

Next week NXT will likely hold a regular show at Full Sail Arena with no Raw or SmackDown Superstars showing up to give them a boost. The ratings for next week’s episode of NXT will be much more telling. Adam Cole seemed happy that fans enjoyed what they were able to do this week.
