AEW Could Be Preparing Big Singles Push For Star

All Elite Wrestling has many stars that we haven’t seen perform at their full potential yet. In the last few weeks we’ve seen Hikaru Shida get more of a focus and there is a reason for that.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that it appears AEW is preparing Hikaru Shida for a big focus on Dynamite. This could eventually see her holding the AEW Women’s World Title.

“You can tell with Hikaru Shida, she’s getting wins. You can tell their plan is… she’s not a ‘throw away’ she might end up being the champion. It’s not like they’re sitting there going, ‘Oh, she’s Japanese she’ll never get over in this country.'”

It was noted that Hikaru Shida has been given a spotlight on television, but she hasn’t received a huge focus yet. It seems like AEW could be positioning her into a top spot, especially after her win on Dynamite this week.

AEW put Shida on the back of one of their production trucks so she is obviously going to get a bigger focus. She had some Japanese dates to fulfill which kept her off some early episodes of Dynamite, but now that she is full time with AEW it seems like they could go with her in a top spot.
