Jon Moxley and Renee Young are still happily married although company lines do separate them now. During Starrcast IV, he commented on something he is able to do that amazes his wife.

Moxley said that a lot of this is because “I can come off weird.” He was put on medication on junior high and he never meant to come off as weird. This is something that he’s been trying to work on. This was amplified by being with someone like Renee Young.

“When we first got together she was like, ‘I’m amazed at how comfortable you are with making other people feel uncomfortable. Like you can just sit in a room and if someone sits next to you in catering you can just not say anything and just not feel uncomfortable.’ I’m like, ‘Why would I feel uncomfortable?’ — ‘Because nobody’s saying anything!’ I’m like, ‘I don’t have anything to say’ where she would make a conversation.”

“Sometimes I’m just in my own head looking at the birds or whatever.”

He said that being in WWE and doing Make-A-Wish events helped him come out of his shell a little bit. He’s still pretty good at making people feel uncomfortable. Moxley also said that doing meet & greets was really hard at first too.

“That was hard at first. We went from being nobody to doing signings in malls like we’re the f*cking Backstreet Boys. So I learned and I got better over the years, but also I’m older and I don’t give a f*ck anymore, so if you don’t like me, whatever.”

This ability to make things awkward was also the central theme of a great story he told about when he feels WWE first decided ‘f*ck this guy.’

Moxley is a very unique individual and he is the purveyor of violence. That might be one of the things that attracted Renee Young to him as she revealed that they really like to just sit around and drink while talking about pro wrestling.
