Lio Rush’s WWE NXT Return Was A Long Process

Lio Rush made a big return to television and he became #1 contender for the Cruiserweight Title in the process.

We previously reported that Triple H had said that lot of thought went into Lio Rush’s return. They wanted to pick the best night to make it happen for him and NXT’s September 18th episode was the perfect moment.

PW Insider reports that there was actually talk to bring Lio Rush back in this fashion since May. Of course, they didn’t know exactly when he would reemerge in NXT because there was no USA Network deal then. They did know that they wanted to bring Lio Rush back into NXT.

We previously reported at the time of his disappearance from television that the company wanted to do a hard reset on him. It looks like this is his chance and he’s off to a good start.
