Tommaso Ciampa was at the cusp of making a big name for himself on the WWE main roster. Then he needed to go out of action with a neck surgery.

NXT is debuting on USA Network this Wednesday. It would be nice to see him make a return, but it might not happen that soon from the sound of things.

Ciampa tweeted out to address reports that he has been cleared for a return to the ring. Apparently, he called his doctor about it too, but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

MAJOR UPDATE:

I have been told that I am cleared to return as of September 11th…

by the internet.

So, I called and asked my surgeon to confirm. He laughed at me. And said (kind of in an Allen Iverson voice) “the internet, we talking about the internet”.

Sooooo…

Tommaso Ciampa will make a return when he’s ready and no earlier or later. He is in great shape and his recovery seems to be going very well, but his neck needs to be at 100% before they can even consider letting him take bumps again.
