WWE is going through some big changes in the next year and that seems to include TakeOver specials.

NXT TakeOver Specials usually come a day before big pay-per-view events. That appears to be changing in 2020, because the Royal Rumble pay-per-view has no TakeOver event before it. Instead, there is Worlds Collide special.

PW Insider reports that WWE has commented on their decision to move away from TakeOver events in this way. They will still be holding NXT TakeOver specials, but dates for those events will be available shortly.

“That event will be Worlds Collide. The schedule of the 2020 NXT TakeOver Events will be out in the near future.”
