Ronda Rousey and Roddy Piper had a great relationship when The Hot Rod was still with us. Now that Rousey is a WWE Superstar and he has sadly passed away she carries on his legacy in a big way.
Not only is Ronda Rousey using the “Rowdy” nickname, but she also rocks Piper’s jacket to the ring on occasion. Ronda might not be wrestling full-time anymore and is currently on WWE’s alumni section, but she’s always welcomed to make a return.
We previously reported that Teal Piper commented on Rousey using The Hot Rod’s jacket. She didn’t have any problem with it, but she did ensure that all of Roddy’s things will eventually go back to the family.
Teal Piper, who recently signed on with WOW as a pro wrestler, went on to say:
“As far as knowing her personally, I only met her for the first time at WrestleMania this year. But I’ve really been honored that she has wanted to pay such a tribute to my dad, and I think it’s really cool for her and it’s really neat to see the Rowdy name main-eventing but for the first time as women at WrestleMania this past year.”
Rousey read this interview and stated: “Rowdy Never Dies.” She will continue to carry on with Rowdy Piper’s incredible legacy though her work no matter what she’s taking part in.
