Paige On Enjoying Second Phase Of WWE Career After In-Ring Retirement

Paige had to retire way too young, but she didn’t leave WWE’s television at all. It was a smooth transition which has now found her recovering from another neck surgery.

She recently spoke to Fox News where she opened up about the terrible time she had after her sex tape leaked online. The first-ever NXT Women’s Champion went on to discuss her retirement and everything that came next for her in WWE after she could no longer wrestle.

Yeah, so I sustained an injury. It’s just wear-and-tear from wrestling for so long, and since I was so young, so it happened. And so I end up having surgery, having three screws put in my neck, and then I came back after a year and I just tried to do stuff that I wasn’t able to do anymore and I didn’t realize that until obviously after the fact.

So, I end up getting an injury into my neck again and then, unfortunately, I had to retire for injuries so I don’t get paralyzed. But it’s all looking up! Because WWE was just like, “Yeah but we want to keep you around! You can’t get out of here that easy.”

So they ended up letting me do the general manager role which was so fun, and then they ended up giving me the opportunity to be a manager for two female Superstars Kairi Sane and Asuka. So I’m enjoying life. New chapter.

Paige was a great General Manager until The McMahons rendered the positions irrelevant when they gained control once again. Hopefully, Paige can heal up quickly from her recent neck procedure so she can get back to leading Kairi Sane and Asuka into battle.
