Sheamus hasn’t performed in the squared circle for a while, but that doesn’t mean he has been slacking off in the gym at all. In fact, The Celtic Warrior is in fantastic shape.

E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness recently had Sheamus on their show where they asked him about his physical transformation. He said that the daily grind of WWE left him unhappy so he started to change things up and his new workout routine is really paying off in a big way.

“It just started because I was unhappy about where I was in WWE. I was unhappy like — the idea came into my mind before I started tagging with Cesaro and then I wasn’t really happy with my training. I wasn’t really happy with what I was doing. I felt like I was just going through the motions in the gym.”

“You guys know you’re on the road all the time and just it’s airport, airport, land, car rental, gym, arena, hotel it’s just like a rut and I wasn’t really enjoying my working out and stuff it like I needed some motivation.”

Sheamus started training outdoors doing more CrossFit type stuff and “functional training.” That helped him re-shape himself and lose around 30 pounds.

He started his Celtic Warrior Workouts YouTube Channel in the process to “explore other people’s journeys” as they get fit as well. He is open to different techniques and diversifying his workouts in a big way. All of that hard work has obviously paid off. The only big question is when he will get back to the ring.
