Vince McMahon Was Reportedly Against Edge Return Summerslam Spot

Edge made a surprising Summerslam appearance when he took out Elias. It was a big moment when he got physical and hit The Drifter with a spear too.

Brad Shepard reports that “it took a lot of convincing” for Vince McMahon to allow Edge to return and do that spot with Elias. After all, Edge is technically on the no contact list.

I’m told it took a lot of convincing by Edge and Elias for Vince McMahon to allow Edge to do the spear. Edge was not medically cleared for action and obviously Vince doesn’t want legal issues. #WWE #SummerSlam

We’re very glad that Edge did decide to come back, if only for that one spear. The Toronto crowd really seemed to appreciate seeing the Rated R Superstar too.
