WWE’s Performance Center is full of incredibly talented Superstars and they are adding a very big name to their roster in September according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Lucha Underground may never be coming back, but that’s okay for El Hijo del Fantasma because it is reported that he is expected to start with WWE in September. This is something that WWE has reportedly been working on for a while, but his Lucha Underground contract stopped that from happening.

WWE has been wanting him since the first season of Lucha Underground aired, as he was a good worker and speaks perfect English. But his Lucha Underground contract kept it from happening for years.

El Hijo del Fantasma’s real name is Jorge Alcantar, but WWE will probably come up with a different name for the popular 35 year old pro wrestling star. He lost his mask at TripleMania last year and the IWC was shocked to discover how photogenic his true face is. This could be money for WWE, especially with the female demographic so it wouldn’t be surprising if they keep his face uncovered once he debuts in NXT.

However, someone like him who speaks “perfect English” and has a look like that might not stick around in NXT for long. This is especially true since WWE really wants Latin American representation on their main roster shows.
