Tommaso Ciampa needed neck surgery even before he was called over to the main roster for a brief spell. He was forced to have the surgery and then started his road back to the ring. Ciampa has been working hard and it sounds like we’ll be seeing him return soon enough.

Fightful Select reports that Tommaso Ciampa’s current return timetable lists him coming back in “Mid August.” This might mean he has to miss Summerslam, but an appearance isn’t out of the question at TakeOver since he would presumably be fully recovered by the time the next NXT TakeOver event rolls around.

Of course, those dates on WWE’s injury report are “hardly strict guidelines,” but it is good that WWE is expecting him to return sometime next month.

Ciampa recently stated that he will be returning to NXT once he is fully healed up from injury. In the end, it is Vince McMahon’s decision, but he has some unfinished business in WWE’s developmental system like trying to get Goldy back before pursuing whatever awaits him on the WWE main roster.
