WWE’s Raw Reunion special featured plenty of names from the past, but we didn’t see RVD’s name coming until his merchandise was spotted at WWE’s merchandise stand. This is especially interesting because RVD is under contract with Impact Wrestling.

Rob Van Dam is actually under contract with Impact Wrestling until the October 20th Bound For Glory pay-per-view according to PW Insider. However, Impact Wrestling didn’t seem to have a problem with him appearing on Raw at all as they sent out a statement on the matter saying:

“RVD appeared on Raw with our blessing. We were approached about it and didn’t see why we would have any problem with it.”

Impact Wrestling shouldn’t have a problem with anyone under contract with them appearing in WWE. Because it was a great look for them to have a star featured in such a way on the Raw Reunion.

As we previously reported, RVD needed to provide written permission from Impact Wrestling before he was permitted to perform on the show. So everything obviously worked out because RVD did appear and received a great reaction in the process.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
