WWE has some very big moves to make as they approach a new television contract with Fox in October. In fact, Fox is reportedly unimpressed and a meeting is scheduled between them and WWE next week to discuss some changes.

WWE has a lot more riding on their Fox deal than simply the reputation of the blue brand. Because they know with AEW debuting on TNT that they need to solidify WWE’s status as the best pro wrestling company on the planet.

Brad Shepard reports that WWE isn’t just wanting to make a discernment between Raw and SmackDown being the “A” or “B” show, but they need to make sure people see WWE as the “A Company” as well.

According to a high level source in #WWE, the company’s strategy going into Fox isn’t just about which WWE show will be the ‘A’ show (between SD & Raw), but it’s about WWE presenting themselves as the “A” pro wrestling/sports entertainment company, as #AEW airs on TNT.

It will be interesting to see what WWE is going to do to make sure people see them as the company to watch, especially with an alternative so readily available.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
