Seth Rollins faced Baron Corbin in the main event of the evening. The Lone Wolf got to pick his own referee as well and fans couldn’t wait to see who would get chosen. Names like Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar, and even Baron Corbin himself were thrown around. However, Corbin ended up calling on Lacey Evans.

The fans lambasted this entire match until the finish with chants of AEW, Bullsh*t, Becky Lynch, This Is Stupid, Boring, Moxley, Let’s Go Cena/ Cena Sucks and others. They were relentless and didn’t give any of the kind of actual heat that WWE should be looking for.

The crowd kept booing hard through all of the spots as Evans played a distracted and apathetic referee. Then she changed the match to no count outs and a No DQ to cater to Corbin’s needs. The crowd kept up with the disapproving chants the entire time as they continued to boo the booking.

Eventually, things started to turn around a bit just for fear that WWE might actually use Lacey Evans’ vendetta against The Man to cost her boyfriend the Universal Title. Then Lynch ran down and took out Evans before an actual referee jumped in and counted to three after a Curb Stomp.

After the match was over, Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins had a really strong “we’re a couple in WWE” moment before the show went off the air. The crowd seemed to be into the ending, but they did not like seeing Lacey Evans come out again whatsoever, especially as the special referee.
