CM Punk has yet to arrive in AEW, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t teasing the idea or at least trolling fans. The former WWE Champion hasn’t wrestled match since walking out of WWE years ago unless you count returning under a mask to deliver a GTS.

While at a Starrcast Q&A, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks were asked about an eventual run for CM Punk in AEW. The question isn’t so much about whether AEW would like to have CM Punk, but the issues remains that Punk is a retired pro wrestler.

“I wanna be honest in my gut I feel like he’s done with pro wrestling so unfortunately I don’t see it happening,” Nick Jackson replied.

Cody said added to this comment from Nick Jackson by saying that if CM Punk might be willing to give them a call the door is always open.

“I would say what I would say to Punk, wrestling fans never gave up on CM Punk. It’s an unbelievable connection that he accrued for the fan base and himself. So I can say for that reason that the door remains open for CM Punk at all times.”

You can never say never in pro wrestling and that includes AEW. CM Punk is booked on the night of Double Or Nothing anyway as he is calling some fights in California.

However, AEW certainly has the financial backing that could offer Punk the cash he wants if his mood about pro wrestling ever changes.
