WWE’s Wild Card Rule was something that Vince McMahon came up with on the day he announced the new gimmick. Now Raw and SmackDown Superstars can travel across brand lines on a weekly basis.

WWE needed to cancel their Corbin Kentucky house show while rescheduling the event to a Thursday in October. However, this trend is continuing as next week’s house show in Lowell Massachusetts was also canceled.

Dave Meltzer mentioned during Wrestling Observer Radio how the company might end up canceling all of their future Monday house shows for the blue brand. Because Roman Reigns could be needed to work Raw every week too.

“They may [stop booking Monday house shows]. That may be what they do now which means we’re going to get Roman Reigns every Monday.”

For the record, ticket sales for the Lowell MA house show were not doing well at all. WWE was sending out email blasts to everyone in the area including the Boston market, but the sales were not there. As we previously reported WWE elected to refund any purchased tickets instead of rescheduling the event.

We will have to wait and see what happens, but with the new Wild Card Rule it might pull enough Superstars from the blue brand’s house show every week that they just wouldn’t have the star power needed to sell the tickets to make the event worth the company’s time.
