WrestleMania is a destination event and WWE would love to turn all of their Big 4 pay-per-views into the same size spectacle. There is a lot of talk about who sells the most merchandise in the company, but in a way nobody really sold the most during WrestleMania weekend.

Brad Shepard reports that WWE fans who turned out in droves for WrestleMania reportedly bought a ton of merchandise, but they had a favorite type. Because the actual WrestleMania 35 event-branded merch was the most bought item on the shelves.

According to a source in #WWE, the top merchandise seller during WrestleMania 35 weekend was the WrestleMania event-branded merchandise. I’m told it did “great” and it was described as “very successful.”

I’m also told the talent rankings were about the same as they would normally be. Seth‘s merchandise was “hot,” in particular his beast slayer shirt. Kofi’s merchandise was “super hot.” Overall, WrestleMania 35 weekend merchandise sales were described as a “big hit.”

Some fans were complaining that WWE dropped the ball when it came to WrestleMania merchandise this year. They didn’t even have a poster available on the official WWE Shop and instead had a metal sign with only a logo on it. Then again, WWE didn’t have a good enough idea about who would be on the card until so late in the game they might not have been able to get a poster ready in time.

It is still interesting to know that even though there were tons of “The Man” and “Beast Slayer” shirts in the crowd, the actual winner of the WrestleMania weekend’s merchandise sales was the event itself.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
