WrestleMania is less than three weeks away, but the Cruiserweight Division has been aiming for the show of shows for a month now. Tonight Tony Nese and Cedric Alexander fought in the finals of the WrestleMania Cruiserweight Championship Tournament for a spot at the show of shows.
Last year Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander battled at WrestleMania as they took the title from Vacant after Enzo Amore was striped of the title when he was unceremoniously released from WWE.
Nese and Alexander took each other to the limit with one near fall after another. The crowd was with this match throughout even if they were still spent after watching Kofi Kingston get screwed out of a WWE Title match.
Those two fought on and scored near fall after near fall on each other. Then they traded roll-up pins until Nese nailed a Running Nese and won the match.
Therefore, it will be Tony Nese vs Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania for the WWE Cruiserweight Title. Hopefully, this match won’t be relegated to the kickoff show.
