The Revival was frustrated with their position in WWE and they asked for their release from the company. The reports are that the Top Guys walked up to Vince McMahon while still in their ring gear after a match with the Lucha House Party on Raw and they asked for their WWE release.

Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder were denied their request for a release and now they are Raw Tag Team Champions. This sudden push is a result of the promise that WWE made to them, but as Wilder spoke to The Mirror, he said that the reports on their release request weren’t what they seemed.

“Hmm, I won’t touch on it too much, but what I will say is that it was lost in translation. There were some things that got out there that I don’t think people knew the full story about. I don’t think it aggravated us, it kind of gave us… again, we like to be angry. We like to be mad at things and have something to fight for. So that gave us more fuel for the fire and we were like… ‘we’ll have fun with the internet over that, as they don’t know what’s what, so we’re not going to tell them otherwise.”

This is a very interesting and intelligent way to answer that question. Only time will tell how long The Revival will remain appeased with their positions in WWE, but apparently, you can chalk it up to the Top Guys just having a good time on social media for now.
