WWE really had their eye on Lars Sullivan to come in and be a dominating monster character. Then he had an anxiety attack before he was set to debut on RAW which caused WrestleMania plans to change.

Because of Sullivan’s circumstances, WWE had to make a different Mania match for John Cena involving Samoa Joe which we elusively reported.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that there isn’t any good news for Lars Sullivan on the main roster. There was a plan for him to face John Cena at WrestleMania, but that’s not happening now after WWE got tired of waiting.

“There will not be any good news on Lars Sullivan because they were waiting and waiting and that appeared to be the idea for [John Cena’s WrestleMania match].”

Now that match is not happening with Lars Sullivan and John Cena. WWE could very well have a different plan for an athlete like Lars Sullivan. However, he seemed to screw up his chances so far. Hopefully, it works out and he dominates while bringing ratings to an Attitude Era level once again. We will have to wait and see.
