Ronda Rousey told WWE when signing her initial contract that she would only be full-time for a year and then she might need a break. This was agreed to because Rousey expressed interest in starting a family. It is not clear what her reproductive plans are (because she doesn’t like talking about it), it does appear that Ronda Rousey is heading toward a WWE exit.
Rousey turned heel on RAW this week by beating down Becky Lynch. Then the assault continued after RAW was off the air. Now it looks like Rousey’s hiatus from WWE is only a matter of time.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Ronda Rousey’s last scheduled date for WWE is the RAW after WrestleMania.
“Right now her last day is the day after Mania. So that can change, but that’s her last day right now.”
It is expected that she will drop the RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania as well. We will have to wait and see what will happen, but WWE could always freeze her contract which is currently set to end in 2021 if she does take a hiatus from the company.
