WWE might have some competition coming in a big way soon enough. All Elite Wrestling is putting everything together in front of the fans’ eyes and they are also working behind-the-scenes to iron out a television deal.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that not only did AEW have a meeting for a television deal yesterday, but it is also setting the company up for the best non-WWE pro wrestling TV deal in a very, very long time.

“AEW had a TV meeting yesterday so that went really well I heard. There’s still no deal signed, but I mean I think everyone know there’s going to be a very legit deal because there’s two of them on the table. It’s real money and it’s real stations. It’ll be the best non-WWE deal that any show has had since WCW. Has anyone had a better deal since WCW? It’s better than Spike. No one else has, right?”

“Either one of the two they’re coming down to it’s bigger than Spike in some ways. Prestige-wise they’re bigger than Spike by a long-shot in fact. When the deal’s done it’s done so we’ll see what happens.”

Television deals are a trick thing and can sometimes fall through. This is why nothing official has been announced just yet. However, if we’re going to read into what Meltzer said then the rumors of AEW talking to Time Warner could be even more credible than ever.
