WWE NXT had a set of television tapings last night at Full Sail Arena. You can check out those spoilers here, but WWE might have tried something really hard to make sure fans didn’t know what happened. I must warn you this article is full of spoilers so please turn back now if you don’t want to know what happens in NXT.

Velveteen Dream won the NXT North American Title from Johnny Gargano last night, or did he?

Dream won the Worlds Collide Tournament and cashed in his title shot to get at Johnny Wrestling. Then as Dream was celebrating his victory, Gargano ran down and locked on a Gargano Escape causing Dream to tap out and apparently, the match ended again.

Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that this could be WWE’s attempt to keep fans guessing about which version of history they actually air on television.

“I’m not entirelly sure what happened right now. I presume that what they did was that they taped two finishes so in case spoilers got out, you don’t know who the North American Champion is until the show goes off the air so I guess we’ll find out.”

Another option is that Dream did win the title and Gargano just ran down to steal the title back so he could pose with Tommaso Ciampa.

This is a pretty clever tactic for WWE to use. Now we don’t know who is NXT North American Champion. It was said to be a great match regardless so it won’t be terrible to have to sit through Velveteen Dream vs Johnny Gargano as if it ever would be.
