WWE is planning Halftime Heat for the first time in twenty years. This time six stars from NXT will do battle, but they will not be in the place we are used to seeing them perform.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE has some unique plans for the look of Halftime Heat because the live show will take place in the WWE Performance Center.

“I don’t know exactly how they’re doing this and all. It’s on a Sunday afternoon or Sunday night. I guess they’re gonna, I don’t know if they’re gonna recruit fans. I haven’t heard anything about tickets, but they’re bringing fans into the Performance Center and it’s being shot, as far as I know it’s being shot at the Performance Center not at Full Sail.”

“They’re doing TV at Full Sail on Wednesday so I thought they would just tape it at Full Sail, but apparently they’re going live with it. So that’s the deal.”

WWE hasn’t held a Halftime Heat show in a very long time. This is great news for fans of WWE, but it is terrible news for Maroon 5. In fact, WWE even threw a jab at Maroon 5 during their commercial for the Halftime Heat revival.

It will most likely be a live show so no spoilers will be possible. We will just have to wait and see how they pay off that big brawl after NXT TakeOver: Phoenix.

You can check out Halftime Heat from 20 years ago below. That event featured a legendary empty arena match with The Rock vs Mankind.
