Roman Reigns was forced to relinquish the WWE Universal Title on October 22nd, 2018 because leukemia that was in remission for 11 years came back. This left a huge hole in the roster forcing WWE to re-write a lot of plans.
Mike Johnson revealed on PW Insider Elite audio that Roman Reigns is not in Phoenix and WWE has no plans to use him at the Royal Rumble either.
“I am told Roman Reigns will not be there this weekend. He was never involved in any creative plans.”
“We are told he’s actually in Haiwii so he’s not even going to be physically at the Royal Rumble.”
Roman Reigns’ return would be a great Royal Rumble surprise and could even be the biggest of all time. However, that is not going to happen this time around.
