WWE hasn’t quite been the same without John Cena. Ratings have taken a hit and the top storyline hasn’t involved Cena in quite some time due to Hollywood obligations. However, Cena is still booked to compete at WrestleMania.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that John Cena’s WrestleMania opponent is Lars Sullivan. It is said that the angle is likely to kick off during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

While a finish hasn’t been determined for Mania, it is logical that Lars Sullivan should defeat Cena in this match. Cena is not going to be around a lot in the upcoming year and Sullivan is being groomed as a top guy. However, some feel it is premature to place that kind of weight on Sullivan.

Sullivan needed to leave Florida early this week without working for RAW or SmackDown due to suffering from what is believed to be panic attack. At this time it appears WWE is going with John Cena vs Lars Sullivan, however, we will likely know if that is still the direction during the Royal Rumble.
