WWE brought a lot of criticism on themselves when they announced a big money decade-long deal with Saudi Arabia before the Greatest Royal Rumble. That was even before the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Then WWE decided to have the Crown Jewel event anyway which was their second event in KSA.
The deal with WWE and Saudi Arabia is still going strong and there don’t seem to be any plans of stopping it. Apparently, WWE already has their next two events in Saudi Arabia set.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that WWE already has plans to hold another Saudi Arabia event in May and then again in November. This would match the two events per year pattern that was set in 2018.
WWE is making a lot of money on this deal and they hold their allegiance to the stockholders and not the general population no matter what Vince McMahon said on RAW this week. So if you canceled the WWE Network because of WWE Crown Jewel, we will keep you updated on any big events you might miss because if you stick to your principals it doesn’t look like you’ll be joining again for another nine years.
