Rhyno has spent over two decades in the pro wrestling business, but he had a pretty bad night in Houston when Heath Slater defeated him in a match that apparently cost the Manbeast his job. Baron Corbin set up a match between the two former SmackDown Tag Team Champions, and after an incredibly short encounter, Slater was victorious meaning Rhyno was fired from RAW.
They didn’t want it to end like this for obvious reasons, and Heath Slater is heartbroken over how it all went down. It appears that for whatever reason, Rhyno is no longer employed by RAW, except that might not be fully the case.
PW Insider noted that although Rhyno was fired on television, he is still booked for RAW house shows. He is on the upcoming tour which will see them flying to Chile tomorrow night and Argentina after that. However, those dates might simply be commitments Rhyno must fulfill before actually leaving.
At this point, we’re unsure what is going on with Rhyno’s contract status and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he will have to check because he hasn’t been told what is going on either. Needless to say, we will keep you updated on any new information as it is released in this ongoing situation.
